I don't like to be a reporter when I make film. I like to be a FILMMAKER, so I always have to wait for the moment when the light is perfect and the mood is good between me and the person, something special is happening in his life and I have to be there.
I couldn’t feel guilty because I had to wait for the camera. My producer was calling me saying, "You keep losing things." It's okay. I loved being there WITH NO CAMERA. It allowed me to really get close to the people without having this fear. The work that I do before I start shooting is very important for me.
